The Science and Technology of Beekeeping

Modern science has permitted us to cultivate a food product that works miles better than sugar and is widely available, but the problem is the production part is seasonal sadly. That is because bees are not so active in the cold months and that may slow production down till around late March early Apr when the flowers officially bloom which makes pollen the abundant for bees to feed on. Science is a puzzle for bees because in a lot of ways they mirror humans by how they sense changes in weather, environment and the organization of how they live is like a lot like humans. The average queen after she's mated can turn out 2k eggs a day in the spring run and fundamentally live for another 2 years and then a new Queen is reared to take over the colony. Essentially Queen bees have the monumental task of keeping the population fresh and all colonies are not the same since different species of bees will live matching to one another, but they could have a different mating pattern and schedule. Humans are about right there, but we have got a different way of mating which is done when we would like to it not when the season or weather changes. Queens are identified by their humming sound, which is distinct to the sound that drones and employee bees make when they communicate with one another. The Queen's buzz is more high pitched and she is continually surrounded with drones and employees who give their lives to offer protection to the queen and are known to swarm constantly which sort of falls in the wayside of the way in which the secret service react when the president's security is compromised and breached they're going to attack when they feel threatened and their duty is to defend the queen at any cost the way the president has round the clock security from the secret service.

That is how close knit a colony of bees are and that is the puzzle many beekeepers are attempting to learn and match with the nature of humans and their interplay with one another. Bees are like one giant family since the bulk of a hive is female, but only 1 will make it as the Queen who rules over the colony to keep the following spawn of offspring to continue the lineage of the colony.

This is what makes science and technology engaging for bees and the keepers who maintain their houses to trot out safeguarding and nurturing a fascinating creature that folk are obviously misunderstanding a lot.

Bees are like folks except they fly and reproduce enough offspring to keep going non-stop for 2-3 years.
